TARGET AUDIENCE
The educational series is intended for nurses, pharmacists and others with clinical, research, and management interests in CINV treatment.

STATEMENT OF NEED
Despite evidence showing that chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) can be prevented in most patients receiving emetogenic chemotherapy, an estimated 70% to 80% continue to experience symptoms.  Inadequately controlled CINV can also result in diminished adherence to chemotherapy treatment or delays in and/or withdrawal from potentially beneficial or curative anticancer therapy. In fact, more than 90% of patients who experienced both acute and delayed CINV reported that it had an impact on their daily life, according to a recent study of patients who received cisplatin-based therapy.
