Statement of Need
The purpose of this activity is to enhance competence concerning the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma.
Target Audience
This activity was developed for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this activity participants should be able to:
- Describe optimal frontline treatment options for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM)
- List therapeutic options for patients with relapsed/refractory MM
- Describe current opinion on maintenance therapy for MM
- Summarize key clinical data on the use of novel agents in the treatment of MM as presented at the 2009 American Society of Hematology annual meeting
