Target Audience

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this activity participants should be able to:
  • Identify the governing dynamics supportive of a robust, productive, and useful R&D process in the emerging healthcare system that is evidence-based, value-based, and patient-centered
  • Discuss the business and government cost-management pressures, as well as the new clinical/epidemiologic drivers that are forcing the industry to reexamine how it identifies and develops new drugs
  • Summarize the specific role that managed care pharmacy has as a key stakeholder in the R&D process
