Statement of Need
The purpose of this activity is to enhance knowledge concerning the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma (MM).

Target Audience
This activity was developed for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this activity participants should be able to:
  • Describe optimal front-line treatment options for patients with newly diagnosed MM
  • List therapeutic options for patients with relapsed/refractory MM
  • Summarize key clinical data on the use of novel agents in the treatment of patients with MM as presented at the 2008 American Society of Hematology annual meeting
  • Identify treatment considerations for older patients with newly diagnosed and relapsed MM
